Which Fat?

Which Fat?

If you are like most, you really hate the idea of greasy fat, the type that literally drips off your pizza over your jeans!  Sometimes those greasy chips, bacon, eggs & sausage can just be a bit too much!  Finally, topping your caramel cheesecake with whipped cream can top you over the edge at a dinner party!

But why does it taste so good?

To answer this question, we need to look at the chemistry of fat and understand that this type of fat we are referring to in high in whats called “saturated fat”.  On a chemical level, it just simply means that the carbon bonds are “saturated” with hydrogen atoms.  You might call it a complex structure.

Therefore the food product is able to be manipulated to create a palatable taste, that has you desiring & wanting more!

So we understand this, whats the alternative?

It’s simple, choosing to derive your fat intake from “unsaturated” or “poly-unsaturated” sources.  This includes the following;

1)    Nuts – Almonds, Walnuts, Macadamias & Brazil nuts to name a few
2)    Avocado
3)    Fish – The best oily fish are Salmon, mackerel &
4)    Certain Oils – Flaxseed oil is great to add to your oats of protein shake.

You will feel a definite difference in the way tour body feels and functions when you are not eating saturated fats.  You skin will be clearer, your bowel will function better & your energy levels will be more consistent.
