I have lost over 30kgs! With Brad's support over the last 2 years, I feel so much healthier, happier, more energetic, have reached my goals and have found a new life. Brad has helped me make a lifestyle change and I thank him for his continuous support and the support of the Peak Physique team. I truly love training and going to the gym and I really feel like part of the team! It's a way of life for me now.
I decided to join a gym when I was 50. I had never exercised for any length of time, suffered from high blood pressure, cholesterol, bad knees and bad back I asked for a gym membership for Xmas 2005 and my family said "Why do you want that, you won't go for very long" which had been the pattern in the past. My response was "If I still want to join in February, I want that membership". February came and I joined. I started doing cardio 5 days a week and started losing weight. I wanted to train with free weights but felt too intimidated to go to the free weight room.
My gym ran an 8 week challenge which included 1 session a week with a trainer. I decided to take part in this as this would help me overcome feeling intimidated. My trainer worked with me to overcome my injuries and I soon became hooked. I also won the challenge, by the way.
I am now training regularly and in 2007 entered a bodybuilding competition. I placed third in the INBA Master 50+ Figures Queensland Titles. I have now dropped 30 kgs in weight, totally changed the shape of my body and feel the best I have felt in my whole life. I don't recall ever being this weight in my adult life. This year in 2009, I am once again competing in the INBA 50+ Figures Queensland Titles.
The best advice I could give is that it is never too late. I feel invigorated, happy, healthy, fit, positive and motivated every day. These feelings flow through to everything else in my life, family, work and every aspect of my life. I am very passionate about exercise and never miss a training session. I have found that it doesn't take too long to change a habit if you put your mind to it. Eating healthy and regular exercise is now my way of life!
