For many years I had tried it all from diet companies to the latest and 'greatest' magazine fad diets and then even created my own from time to time just to see what would work and wouldn't.
Surprisingly whilst some worked to a degree the weight came back on and then more just for good measure!!
So why has this worked?? Great question and I guess if I really sit down and think, the answer would be that for once I had the determination and strength to make it work. I made the decision instead of other people around me making the decision for me.
Now I’m not going to tell you that it has been easy and anyone can do it, because it has been the hardest challenge I have faced and not anyone can do it if they don't have the drive and determination.
It has been very hard and yes, there have been times when I just wanted to say NO but then you sit back and you find it in yourself to get up and keep going just like the little energiser bunny
So I started training with Andrea in November 2001 and all was going along nicely until one day she mentioned that she was leaving, just when I thought about throwing in the towel. Andrea mentioned that she thought Miles would be a great trainer for me, so in January 2002 I started with Miles and have not looked back!!
I must admit it was a little intimidating meeting Miles and going through the first measure session, but Andrea was right - Miles was going to be the right trainer for me. Why? I really didn't know at first but the more I got to know Miles the more comfortable I became and the results I was seeing were fantastic so I guess it was just meant to me and besides stopping with Miles is never an option because 'if you stop you do it again!'
When I started my new life change in November 2001 I weighed [can't believe I’m saying this] 115kg as of today I have lost close to 42kg.
I am now competing in triathlons and running distances and times I could only ever dream off. My wardrobe now has the funky clothes and yes even the hipster jeans. My friends tell me that I am a different person and not only with the way I look but I am much happier, relaxed and have a lot more get up and go. I love training and look forward to my sessions with Miles - well most times anyway.
Now this new cycle of my life has not been all positive as I have faced some 'sabotage' from friends and even family members who simply did not and still do not understand why I have done this and even now why I am continuing to still train with Miles and Peak as 'surely you must know what you are doing by now' is the usual comment I receive.
Looking back now could I have achieved what I have done without the support and guidance of Miles and the Peak team honestly NO would be answer.
